Scotland's Road Safety Framework

The 2020 Road Safety Framework saw the establishment of a Strategic Partnership Board (SPB) and the Operational Partnership Group (OPG).

By working together we have made a positive impact on road casualty reduction. With the introduction of Local Partnership Forums, we aim to reach even further and improve communications between national and local level. We will work towards delivering our long-term goal for road safety where no-one dies or is seriously injured by 2050.

Strategic Partnership Board (SPB)
The SPB work in partnership with Ministers and senior partner organisations. They are responsible for collective decisions on strategic approaches, identifying and resolving high-level issues and have public ownership of the framework and its delivery.

Operational Partnership Group (OPG)
The OPG consider a range of evidence-based road safety policies and interventions. It has representation from a variety of organisations with a remit for, or vested interest in, road safety. It has the responsibility for the monitoring, analysis and distillation of evidence and information on activities being undertaken by partners towards the delivery of the Framework.

Local Partnership Forums (LPFs)

The LPFs has three groups covering the North, East and West. These will give us the capability of sharing messages and working consistently across the whole of Scotland from a local level to a national one, working collectively to reach the compelling long-term goal for road safety.

Each group meet twice a year with the minutes from the meetings available here: Here
